JKBD design + property development

JKBD design + property development is based in Chadstone and grew from JK Building Design, established in 1998. The practice combines architectural drafting, building design, planning and property-development services, making it particularly useful for residential projects that need an early understanding of site potential before a full design is commissioned. A client can arrive with a defined brief or begin with a site assessment and feasibility discussion.

For investors and development clients, work can progress from development feasibility analysis into design and planning consulting. Dual occupancies, townhouses and other residential developments require site yield, parking, private open space, building form and council controls to be considered together. Feasibility therefore informs the concept rather than becoming a standalone report. Owner-occupier work is shaped more directly around household needs and the opportunities of the individual site.

Once a scheme is established, JKBD can prepare building and construction documentation and provide support for building tenders and wider development solutions. Its project network includes building design, interiors, energy assessment, landscape and engineering expertise. Bringing these disciplines into the same workflow helps maintain continuity between feasibility, planning decisions and the technical information ultimately required for construction.
