Sketch Design & Interiors

Sketch Design & Interiors works from Elsternwick, Melbourne, focusing on boutique residential building design, interior design and complete residential documentation. The studio develops each commission around the site, the way the building will be used, planning requirements and the practical objectives of the project. Its work includes custom homes, alterations and additions, and integrated residential interior and building design. From the first discussion, scope, spatial priorities and the approval pathway are considered together so that an early concept can continue into planning, permit and construction documentation without losing its original direction. During design, Sketch Design & Interiors considers layout, site response, daylight, circulation, architectural character and buildability as connected decisions. The studio uses an integrated building-and-interior approach, resolving space, materials, performance, sustainability and long-term value within one design language. Residential work is shaped around everyday living and long-term use, while development and commercial projects also address site yield, planning controls, parking and access, building use and consultant requirements. This allows the design to become progressively more resolved rather than being recreated at each project stage.
