Ecocern Pty Ltd
Company Overview
Some forty years ago Ecocern began manufacturing genuine 100% post-consumer recycled paper and packaging products, including brown recycled copy paper, recycled paper bags and brown recycled paper rolls, all made in Australia as doing something positive about our forest destruction is necessary. The forest destruction problem has now reached a crisis level; with less than 25% of the worlds forests left. We have also lost 70% of the worlds wildlife and insects in the past 50 years, which is the start of an era of rapid extinction. If this problem is not stopped right now, we can expect near 100% extinction of all inhabitants of earth in the very near future. This is why we must stop using native forest products immediately and go to negative CO2 emissions, right now, as the clock has long passed midnight. Insecticides are also responsible for rapid insect extinction as the earth is poisoned by these chemicals apart from micro plastic pollution. This is why Ecocern has provided an alternative, as just talking about the problem achieves nothing . When all is said and done, more is said than done. If we all used real recycled brown paper we would not need to be cutting down native forests that absorb CO2, attract precipitation, conserve our wildlife, insects and store water. When our native forests are logged the young forest is a fire hazard as the canopy is lower, the soil is dryer and less moisture is attracted. Apart from climate change and weeds readily growing in damaged forests is also a great fire danger problem. Ecocern is the only real 100% post-consumer recycled bag manufacturer. https://www.ecocern.com/real-recycled-paper-bags-stationery/ As you are no doubt aware, using paper made from our forests is exacerbating the World’s rapidly growing environmental catastrophe. Many of these forest products falsely or misleadingly claim to be recycled. A typical misleading claim may use terminology such as: “Made With” (as opposed to “Made From”), “Recyclable”, “Recycle”. White copy paper is not real 100% post-consumer recycled and is not made from the paper we put out for recycling despite false of trick wording recycled claims, as all brands were made at the only mill in the Gippsland forest which as discontinued making copy paper. Now most imported from Asia, often with false recycled claims. There was once real 100% post-consumer recycled imported paper, but recent legislation has stopped the importation of real recycled white copy paper, giving Nippon Daishou the monpoly at that time. Many brown paper bags also use false or trick wording recycled claims such as : “Use recycled brown bags”. This does not mean the bag is recycled. Often these bags are made in China from world heritage forest and are not real recycled brown paper. https://www.ecocern.com/product/medium-carrier-bags-with-gussets/ Using just recycled paper can be of detriment to real recycling, as this paper often claims to be recycled when just the paper slurry is recycled or mill broke is reused. This is standard production methodology for virgin paper manufacture. Most of the paper scrap collected is low grade, post-consumer scrap from households and industry. This paper is available in glut proportions and often dumped resulting in substantial methane release, thus further causing climate change problems. High quality recycled paper scrap is in very short supply. Ecocern products are Australian made from the paper you put out for recycling and industrial paper scrap only. Further: Ecocern is a 100% Australian owned and all stages of production are Australian owned. Brown kraft paper is usually not recycled. Below is a picture of a reel of real 100% post-consumer recycled paper. It is gray brown in colour that is typical of unbleached 100% post-consumer recycled paper. Small flickers of colour can be observed upon close inspection. https://www.ecocern.com/product/a4-recycled-brown-copy-paper/
