Base Architecture

Base Architecture is a Brisbane practice based in Grange, working across residential, commercial, medical, industrial, retail, interiors, heritage, hospitality and education projects. Its process spans pre-design, sketch design, design development, building approval, construction documentation and contract administration, supported by architects, graduates of architecture and interior design staff. The studio handles tailored homes and renovations as well as commercial and specialist environments, with a strong emphasis on developing project-specific design responses. Base uses a clearly staged architectural process. Work can begin with pre-design and sketch design before moving through design development, building approval and construction documentation, with contract administration available later in the project. This means clients can retain the same practice beyond an early concept package and maintain continuity as the project moves into regulatory and technical stages, reducing the risk that design intent is lost between separate providers. The practice has a broad project mix. Alongside houses and renovations, its experience includes medical, industrial, retail, commercial, interiors, heritage, hospitality and education facilities, requiring the team to adjust its approach to different regulatory settings, operational patterns and users.
