The unclaimed money industry is a young and vibrant sector that enables Ethical Refund Professionals to undertake the research, collation and legal representation required to Government bodies in order to complete the claim refund process for unclaimed funds owning to the rightful owners. The Sector is legislated by specific unclaimed money Acts that dictate the due process for administration and distribution of unclaimed money. Total funds available as at March 2023 are at an estimated $98.7 Billion dollars across 5 jurisdictions, in many instances this is interest bearing accounts. This means that The sector requires stringent processes and accountability to ensure professional practices are maintained, and that transparency and best practices are adhered to as a standard benchmark. This is a pivotal role of the Unclaimed Money Association.
