Twohill & James

Twohill & James is a Brisbane architecture and interior design practice based in Fortitude Valley. Its project mix spans residential, commercial, hospitality and institutional work, allowing the studio to consider external architecture and interior experience as parts of the same design problem. For residential clients this can align planning, materials and indoor-outdoor relationships, while commercial projects add operational and brand requirements.

The design process begins with the project brief and site before moving through concept design, developed design and construction documentation. As projects become more detailed, structural, services, planning and other consultant information can be coordinated with the architectural work so that the original design intent remains workable and clearly documented.

The practice’s varied project types require different priorities. Homes focus on lifestyle, scale, privacy and light; hospitality and commercial environments need efficient circulation and a strong user experience; institutional work can introduce more complex stakeholder and regulatory requirements. A compact practice structure supports continuity as the same project moves between these stages.

From its Robertson Street studio in Fortitude Valley, Twohill & James is suited to clients who want architecture and interiors to be developed together rather than as separate commissions.
