Working from the real planning, climate and construction conditions of the capital region, Trella Architecture & Interiors has developed a clear professional direction. Trella evolved from Mather Architecture while carrying forward a practice established in 2012. Working from Civic, the integrated architecture and interiors team considers human scale, psychology, city-making and climate across a deliberately varied mix of housing, public and commercial work.

Commissions extend across private homes, multi-residential and missing-middle housing, workplaces, community, heritage, retail and hospitality. The team identifies the constraints most likely to shape an outcome, then compares routes through drawings, models, material studies and consultant input. The practice begins with purpose, place and people, coordinating architectural and interior decisions within one team rather than attaching interiors late in the process.

Trella Architecture & Interiors treats communication as a design instrument. Client routines or operational needs, consultant advice and builder knowledge all inform judgement. Staged outputs distinguish what has been decided, what still needs a choice and where risk remains, allowing work to progress in an orderly way. Material and detail are developed with structure, durability, light and touch rather than applied as decoration. The resulting work seeks a balance between clear function, environmental performance and a distinctive spatial experience.
