3070 Design Studio

3070 Design Studio works from Northcote, Melbourne, focusing on residential, retail, commercial and mixed-use architectural drafting, planning and building design. The studio develops each commission around the site, the way the building will be used, planning requirements and the practical objectives of the project. Its work includes heritage additions, new homes, garages and studios, multi-unit and multi-level developments and commercial fit-outs. From the first discussion, scope, spatial priorities and the approval pathway are considered together so that an early concept can continue into planning, permit and construction documentation without losing its original direction. During design, 3070 Design Studio considers layout, site response, daylight, circulation, architectural character and buildability as connected decisions. The studio provides face-to-face service across Greater Metropolitan Melbourne and has long-standing experience with heritage overlays and complex council applications. Residential work is shaped around everyday living and long-term use, while development and commercial projects also address site yield, planning controls, parking and access, building use and consultant requirements. This allows the design to become progressively more resolved rather than being recreated at each project stage.
