TDM Design

TDM Design works from Melbourne, focusing on residential building design, drafting, town planning and working drawings. The studio develops each commission around the site, the way the building will be used, planning requirements and the practical objectives of the project. Its work includes custom homes, extensions, renovations and multi-unit residential projects. From the first discussion, scope, spatial priorities and the approval pathway are considered together so that an early concept can continue into planning, permit and construction documentation without losing its original direction. During design, TDM Design considers layout, site response, daylight, circulation, architectural character and buildability as connected decisions. Each project is led directly by Trent, with the builder, budget, planning requirements and final buildable documentation considered throughout design. Residential work is shaped around everyday living and long-term use, while development and commercial projects also address site yield, planning controls, parking and access, building use and consultant requirements. This allows the design to become progressively more resolved rather than being recreated at each project stage. Depending on the brief, the project can continue through concept plans, design development, town planning, 3D visualisation, project coordination and working drawings.
