The Start

The Start is a Perth-based development team specialising in creative design combined with technical delivery across websites, SaaS, custom software and new digital experiences. Each engagement is organised around the way the client actually works, allowing technology to fit the process rather than forcing the process into a fixed template.

The delivery mix includes Web design, Website development, SaaS Product development, Custom Software development. Website development brings together front-end experience, content management and business functionality with room for maintenance and future extension. SaaS development considers multi-user operation, permissions, continuous releases and scalable architecture for products intended to be run over the long term. Custom software is shaped around the organisation’s own rules and processes, reducing the workarounds created when generic tools do not fit. Web design structures information, brand presentation and responsive behaviour so content remains clear and usable across devices.

Maintainability is part of delivery, with clearer structure, testing and administration designed to reduce reliance on temporary workarounds or knowledge held by one person. Complex requirements are divided into manageable versions, bringing the highest-value functions into use first and allowing later stages to respond to real feedback.
