About Preventive Dentistry

Preventive Dentistry has been serving Canberra since 1963, when it was established by Dr Noel Egan whose preventive approach to dental care was ahead of its time. He was the first dentist in the ACT to employ a dental hygienist, and was instrumental in the recognition and registration of Dental Hygiene as a profession. The practice has employed many excellent clinicians over the years, and some have formed their own practices while others have continued on to become dental specialists. Dr Stephen Lising joined Preventive Dentistry in 1997 and after Dr Egan retired 2 years later, he left his patients in the capable hands of Dr Steve and the team. To this day, Dr Egan and his family continue to visit the practice for their own dental care.
