Neighbourhood Architecture

Neighbourhood Architecture combines local knowledge with focused investigation for each commission. Neighbourhood Architecture was established in 2021 and works from Kingston Foreshore. Its team combines architectural and energy-performance expertise to make Canberra homes more comfortable and healthy through cold winters, hot summers and established-neighbourhood constraints.

Services concentrate on high-performance new homes and energy-efficient renovations with passive-solar design and NatHERS modelling from the outset. Across different scales, the team considers relationships between building, street, landscape, neighbours and the routines inside. While the design is still flexible, the practice tests orientation, glazing, shading, insulation and airtightness so performance findings genuinely shape planning and form.

From concept to delivery, Neighbourhood Architecture continues checking whether the original goals remain visible in scale, movement, daylight, material and environmental performance. The team adapts where necessary without allowing short-term changes to weaken the overall order. Clients receive clear information that can support approvals, pricing, coordination and construction, while understanding the spatial reasoning behind the main decisions. The outcome is intended to be useful, buildable and meaningful over time.
