Nagy Design

Nagy Design works from Clayton, Melbourne, focusing on residential and commercial building design, sustainable design and permit documentation. The studio develops each commission around the site, the way the building will be used, planning requirements and the practical objectives of the project. Its work includes custom homes, multi-residential developments, renovations, smaller projects, retail stores and hospitality work. From the first discussion, scope, spatial priorities and the approval pathway are considered together so that an early concept can continue into planning, permit and construction documentation without losing its original direction. During design, Nagy Design considers layout, site response, daylight, circulation, architectural character and buildability as connected decisions. The studio has long-standing experience in environmentally sustainable design, integrating the functional requirements of homes, retail and commercial uses into architectural proposals and technical documentation. Residential work is shaped around everyday living and long-term use, while development and commercial projects also address site yield, planning controls, parking and access, building use and consultant requirements. This allows the design to become progressively more resolved rather than being recreated at each project stage.
