My father's family home was on the block of land where the Clubb Coolum Resort now sits, giving him only a short run down to the Coolum Surf Club where he was a Cadet at age 14 and eventually going on to be Captain of the Surf Club and the Surf Boat sweep. He still remains a Life Member of the club.
