m3architecture

m3architecture is a Brisbane practice based in Petrie Terrace with a history dating to 1997. Its experience includes education, public, commercial, interiors, laboratory, urban design and masterplanning projects. Unlike a practice focused mainly on private houses, m3 frequently works with institutions and specialist facilities where many users, operational requirements and long-term adaptability shape the brief.

Early project stages use research, feasibility and concept design to identify the central spatial and organisational problem. Education work considers teaching patterns and campus life, laboratories require more specialised services and workflows, and public or commercial projects add questions of access, identity and urban context. The architectural response is therefore developed from the specific use and site.

As projects move into developed design and documentation, structural, building-services, acoustic, landscape and other consultant information can be coordinated with the architecture. A team in the 11–50 employee range provides capacity for these complex interfaces. Interior architecture and masterplanning capability also allow the practice to work from detailed user experience to wider site organisation.

The studio is on Saint James Street in Petrie Terrace.
