Founders John Lawson and Phil Lovell were both born on the northern beaches and have lived there all of their lives. A number of their team also grew up in the area and like John and Phil, are familiar with the nuances of Sydney’s north. For example, they know the moisture content of some popular timbers are not suited to the coastal suburbs, due to the salt and moisture content in the prevailing winds. They will advise clients of the best choice of timber for the environmental conditions of the build, and work closely with architects in the process.
