JDL Construction

Brisbane owners engage JDL Construction for substantial renovations and extensions to Queenslanders, character homes and other established properties whose original qualities are worth retaining. Rather than treating the project as a standard new residence, the team works with the building that is already there, reconsidering layout, light, circulation and family function while making any added space feel connected to the original house.

The Grange project is a clear example. The post-war home had been affected by a series of disconnected earlier alterations. JDL reorganised the residence through a rear extension that brought more natural light into the shared living areas, improved spatial continuity and strengthened the connection to the deck and outdoor living. The original street presence was retained while materials, openings and structural details were used to make the renewed parts of the home feel more coherent. The company has more than twenty permanent team members and uses defined project stages and project tools to keep milestones, timing and budget information visible during delivery.
